This movie delivers all the good feels of its 1986 predecessor, as well as giving a solid tip of the hat to those of us who had the privilege of watching the first one in the cinema. As strong as the visuals are, and the cinematography is truly top notch, they don't beat the simple, well told story. It is an absolute feel good movie which I can watch again and again and again and still enjoy.
My one and only complaint about this movie is a petty one, but still. Maverick must be at least 57, probably closer to 60, and Penny not far behind that, and yet not one grey hair showing on either. C'mon, that's not how this aging thing works. There's nothing wrong with greying hair, just ask George Clooney.
