Knowing what happened during the times depicted in this movie and also knowing Calvary Chapel's history helps to have an even greater appreciation of this movie. But you can appreciate it also without knowing all the background. The Jesus Revolution is a snapshot (read: snapshot) of a true story. With all the paths out there that people trod to find happiness, joy and purpose, there is one that truly leads to life. The very people who tried everything, saw everything and did everyone (in Lonnie Frisbee's case per Greg Laurie in interviews, and who both are depicted in this movie), the answer is Jesus. Obviously, millions agreed and the result was a great spiritual awakening. This is a good movie that doesn't pretend to be an exhaustive treatment of the times, but a story of truth that transformed lives. We loved this movie. Please see it!
