This fails in comparison to the original.. the cgi was excellent however lack of facial expressions on the lions killed it especially with the cubs. The child like humor from the original was missing.. Simba didn’t seem like a rebel instead more like a spoiled kid. Now to the voice acting. Seth did an amazing pumba. The bird was ok and the original Mufasa voice was excellent. Beyoncé however was flat and would have been better as Simbas mother her voice doesn’t match up well as nala because of her age and lack of acting skills. Grown up simba sounded like he was from the hood and the singing was horrible coming from simba all the way from cub to adult. A lot of flat emotionless lines but that can also be blamed on the lack of facial expressions.. and to top off the last negative is that Disney is still pushing the whole female power feminist movement and added a scene with just nala and the girl hyena. We didn’t need that.. (like jasmines little added song in Aladdin or the avengers endgame where the females somehow how enough time to assemble in the middle of a war) I really wanted to like this movie but they should have used more experienced voice actors and fixed the animation for the faces, which would be great if they did fix it before dvd release then I would buy it. All hail hood Simba.
