I loved this series. The script and acting were incredible. Although there were sad and hard moments in all of the characters’ lives, there were also joyous moments, as in life. It also very accurately portrayed that human beings have flaws, and love, friendship, and forgiveness, and a sense of humor, are blessings.

Crisply written and easy to read, but wasn’t sure if the use of multiple similes making in sound like a 50’s police detective show was intended? I really liked the Sheriff and many other characters- very good characterization. Racism especially in the South unfortunately rings true today. Three stars because it was so gruesome and upsetting that I had to start skimming it to get to the end, plus I stopped caring about who the villain was.

Even though I knew about this horrendous problem, it is quite a different thing to watch on the big screen. The movie was upsetting and left my stomach in knots. The reason for three stars is that it was almost a documentary with flat acting by the hero. I would have preferred more of an action movie focusing on the rescue attempts rather than the drawn out emotionally wrenching traumatic scenes.

This was such an interesting story, great acting especially by Robert Downey, Jr. and Emily Blunt, (although I thought Brad Pitt overacted), beautifully shot, and great music and effects. The last hour was captivating and chilling.
Three stars because it is an hour too long, especially in the middle. All four of us nodded off a bit.
