I enjoyed the Netflix series Wu Assassin so I gave this a shot. It seems less like a movie and more like a bad, poorly budgeted episode. Compared to the series the fight scenes came off more like an obviously choreographed dance than a real fight. And, while the fighting was bad the story and plot was far worse. There's no character development, no build up or anything to make you care about what happens and tons of plot holes. In the end I wouldn't recommend watching this. Which is sad because Jason Tobin from the show Warrior is great and feels completely wasted and I like Uwais and Tan in other projects.

So far definitely enjoying this show. As someone who grew up on the original I didn't know how taking a dramatic approach to a comedy was going to work but it 100% does.

Sadly this shows cast and writing is no where near as good as the original show. It seems like a show that's trying to hard to be funny and does nothing to endear the audience or make you care about the characters!
