I was super excited about this movie because I loved playing with barbies as a kid and watching the barbie life in the dream house. This movie was nothing like those though. It started off really nice and fun and upbeat. But the plot line started going all over the place. I didn't like how Ken was represented as someone that barbie was annoyed by. And I didn't like that barbies ego was through the roof. The random family that was in the show was weird, especially the mom. I don't like how sexist the movie was either towards both women and men, and I get that they were trying to make a point but it almost reinforced the sexism they were seemingly trying to combat. This movie was over all, all over the place with vibes, aesthetic, storyline. Oh and I'm only 18 but if I had kids I don't think I'd let them watch this, the jokes they make were not appropriate for kids at all. To be honest I think it would've been better had they not tried to make it "a realistic" adult version of barbie. The barbie song at the end was the best part of the movie imo. EDIT~ the movie reminded me of a spoof of barbie or like an SNL skit turned into a 2 hour movie about barbie. Had sum funny moments but the humor wasn't very complex. ALSO WHY WAS THERE NO SHLOND POOFAS?? They really missed an opportunity with that one. (iykyk)
