After enjoying “Killing Floor” and “Die Trying” I couldn’t wait to get back to “Without Fail” just to get the damn thing read and be shot of it! Lacking in any real drama until over 200 pages it was the complete antithesis of a page turner. OK some great scene setting and descriptions of weather but long drawn out sections that were more to do with reaching his publisher’s word count than delivering on really good plot development. Maybe it was just me but it was a slog to get through this book. I’ve got all the others to read so no doubt I’ll find another Jack Reacher which isn’t quite as pedestrian. “Without Fail” - touch of irony there!
