Have been playing since 2005.
- Terraforming is an absolute nightmare.
-No bridges on second level unless over water.
-Can't terraform the beach.
-Trees need a 4 item space because of the wood they drop.. so no trees by the river or cliff.
-Houses are smaller.
-Villagers are immensely dumbed down.
- Isabelle is annoying and doesn't participate in anything anymore.
-Why is Tom Nook running everything? Why not Reese and Cyrus?
-Tortimer Island is gone, so there's nothing to do with your friends.
-Tools break constantly. Whenever I have to stop what I'm doing and go buy or craft another tool, I simply stop playing. It is immersion breaking and absolutely unnecessary.
-The hourly music is an absolute tragedy compared to New Leaf, City Folk or Wild World. I only turn up the volume when I fish. There is no magical soundtrack in this game.. just lots of terrible guitar music.
- No coffee shop. No Shampoodle. No Gracie. Only one upgrade for the shop.
- Can't move the town square... It's huge and ugly.
- Villagers will not ask you to run errands for them anymore.
- Villagers basically act as background decor and don't really interact with you at all.
- Lots of trees were removed. No more duran, lychee, lemon, or pomegranate trees.
- Still can't turn the camera around outside.. you can in Breath of the Wild.. why not AC?
- Players have this huge ugly block head and large chin now.
- Can't buy more than one set of stuff at a time in the dressing room at Able Sisters.
- Can't craft multiple things at once
- Can't access your home inventory from outside, and can't access your home inventory from other islands making MULTIPLE TRIPS the norm.
- Can't attach things to letters for additional storage.
- Yes we got bigger inventories.. but now we have to lug around ladders, a vaulting pole, THREE kinds of wood (not including sticks), and other stupid asinine crafting materials.
I'm just... So disappointed in this iteration of the game. I was expecting this game to be the best AC game EVER. And to truly have the freedom to make our little islands the way we wanted. Instead, we get the ILLUSION of freedom , tucked behind layers of, "Sorry, you can't do that!".
I think I'm just done. I'm going back to New Leaf.
