I loved this book. Mr. Mullaly brought to life a world I was only aware of from childhood picture books of iron clad men atop horses waving heavy iron swords. He made the 10th century Viking Period and Norse culture a vibrant and totally enthralling human story. I loved how he took his extensive knowledge of this period and wove a credible and thoroughly entertaining story of Eadric and his world. It was a fascinating read. I am now reading his second book - Viking Warlord, The Saga of Thorkell the Great, who was introduced in this book and I am enjoying it just as much.
