This show is just another one to add to the many shows and movies that were destroyed by giant media conglomerates. Amazon tried to capitalize on a giant fan base by purchasing the most popular fantasy franchise, but they made a few mistakes. 1. The story revolves around the typical “girl-power” feminist warrior lead that they’re putting in every show/movie thats created now. 2. They gutted the true second age of middle-earth and created an entirely new story line that has nothing to do with Tolkien’s actual second age, and they made it terrible and inauthentic 3. They crammed the show full of random diversity hires in order to pander to the people that live in their bubble, instead of just being true to the actual work and history of middle earth. At the same time, in reality, Amazon uses slave-labor for cheap production. What it comes down to, is that people are tired of Hollywood, and the corporate world heading in this direction. This truly isn’t what the people want. It’s a shame that they aren’t able to see past their preconceived notions about racism and sexism, and just listen to what people are actually saying. This isn’t about bigotry. People just want them to be true to the work, and stop using the things they love as a pedestal to spew their “progressive” ideology, and partisan world view in places that it doesn’t need to be. Middle-earth was just fine with strong male leads that get the occasional help from a strong intelligent woman, the authentic ethnicity of the people of middle earth solely because that’s the way it was written, and without the “woke” narratives and story telling. Do you know how many movies there are with leads that are people of color, and leads that are women? There’s so many, and people love most of them. Plenty of diverse shows/movies don’t get ratio’d to death like this show did. This just wasn’t the place for it. That’s not what middle-earth is. It’s fine to use diversity, but it doesn’t have to be crammed down everybody’s throat all the time. Did you know that there’s places on this earth that we live in where there’s absolutely no diversity? That’s just the way it is sometimes. They need to stop bringing their agenda into things we love. We want to escape this crazy world, we don’t want the real world politics following us into middle-earth.
