The notion of a society of
people controlled by a central committee is the story of mankind. In brave New World, the people are happy because they are Biologically and AI’d to be so—to be happy, everybody in their place. And then there’s a couple of characters that don’t fit the mold — making the story more punchy. In all humility, parts of the book I didn’t understand; and some writing I thought unnecessarily complex and officious. (Am I really kibitzing Aldous Huxley?) On balance, particularly in light of our 2023 society, worth reading & contemplating.
