I have a new level of respect for this show after not seeing it since the original airings. The level of cinematography here is really amazing given when this was shot. some incredibly beautiful shots. Yes, there is some 80s cheese, and some pretty horrible story ideas, but a lot of the episodes are really great and super well written. (El Viejo and Walk Alone come to mind). The guest cast who have gone on to be huge stars reads like a who's who of Hollywood stardom. This is one of the first shows that has character arcs that evolved over the years. Sonny in particular changes from a believer in the system/justice in season one into a hardened cynic by the finale. Some of the dialogue is just fantastic as well . Sonny: "I wanna know when murder and mayhem became footnotes on a corporate balance sheet" Wall Street big wheel who knows everything about Crocket and Tubbs:" All you need to know is that its a big boat. Don't rock it" The music from Jan Hammer's original theme and score to great 80s hits on the soundtrack just really tied the feel of the era together perfectly. Highly recommended
