This is coming from a great Rush fan who cannot get along with certain aspects.
Chapter 3 was a worst read for me.
Geddy came across as Poland-hater, despite his promises to visit Poland according to "Wandering the Face of the Earth" page 426 book. I don't get how can someone hate a country with 1000 years of history and act like those ignorants on the song "Witch Hunt" and "Territories". I guess it must be something to do with "Polish death camps" or "every stupid Polak is a bloodthirsty antisemite" trope. If so, then WHY DID HE CONTINUE PERFORMING IN GERMANY? The same dude, who scolded Putin for overtaking Ukraine, would probably support Putin himself, when he invades my country.
Other than that, you can get disappointed by his personality as he scolds everybody and everyone whom he meets and he admitted having ginormous problems with drugs. Not a good look for what I considered a family-friendly band and I kinda approved of them ingesting weed.
I also found Neil's opinion on Japan so close-minded, like Geddy's opinion on Poland.
I would recommend this book for overprivileged westerners. Me, as a Polish person, never saw Rush in Poland, because of Geddy's intolerance and lack of self-awareness.
Sigh. The worst part is, the rumours spread by the Polish radio DJs turned out to be true, Geddy does hate Poland.
Geddy, if you are reading this, change your mind on Poland, love O.N.
