The acting, casting, dialogue, production, and direction--everything about this series was superb! It was extremely captivating that one would want to watch it in one sitting ( 1 season, 12 episodes). Although the genre is period drama, there is a little bit of everything such as suspense, action, and of course, romance. Do not be misled by the title, it is not just about the cook and the Duke. The other characters are quite interesting as well. The story is actually quite deep. I enjoyed how some recipes are connected to the character´s life events. Now that I have finished watching the show, I am on the hunt to find something on par on Netflix---still looking...
