When you look back at how good U2 have been and how many of their songs have framed parts of our lives. This feels like the beginning of the long goodbye and a gentle reminder of their legacy. Some of the songs work well but many of them feel like a care of duty. It just made me want to listen to the original songs again. It's not that their craft isn't there but almost like an unnecessary deconstruction. Taking the Edge as we know him away from Bono's tones and not having the driving back line isn't a good thing. It should have been a cover concert with other artists given licence to play thier songs but in their own retrospective styles.
