Got this game for free with PS Plus, and still couldn't stand it. Controls are incredibly unresponsive with awkward button presses that don't feel natural or intuitive at all. The grinding aspect of learning moves were terribly boring and tedious. Yes, real people need to practice a move to get better, but this is still a GAME that is supposed to be fun for the players, not a carpel tunnel simulator. They really need to go back a few generations or give the contract back to previous company because EA seems to be destroying it as they do with most sports games making it a cash in on something popular.
BTW, I'm a competition level fighting game player for over 20 years, so not a newbie to this realm. Had high hopes, but this is a terrible cash in that had some good ideas around the fights, but not executed well at all. Just read all the good reviews, they are all seemingly new to this style of games, or don't get into fighting games as heavy as enthusiasts, while most of the terrible reviews i have read are also from people who have played most of the previous games and have a real scale with which to judge this entry, and know that this was a huge step backwards in many ways. Some issues just won't start being apparent until you start really getting into these games, then you realize how broken the systems are compared to other fighting franchises/games, and how easily the AI or other players will win spamming a few things instead of having real strategy, skill, or reflexes. Turns into frustration very quickly when you start seeing these issues pop up in fights over and over again.
