I think one of the reasons why this show is so so bad it because it's tied to a pretty well liked IP: scooby doo, literally from boomers to gen z has been a show we've watched and enjoyed because it's just uncomplicated fun; there's a mystery, everyone goes ahh, they solve the mystery! It's got a comforting sort of predictability to it, and so by trying to make it all woke it just ruins it. Scooby doo is a children's mystery show. it's a whodunit for kids. That's all it is, and it does a great job at that. Velma is none of those things. I don't think anybody who ever watched scooby doo thought "I think this would be better if it swore and said the word patriarchy". It's like if Hasbro tried to make a woke version of MLP where all the characters being female suddenly had a feminist spin on it - that's just not at all the point of the show, and it would be awful. Also, it's just so patronizing to consume content that is actively trying to appeal to your political ideology in such a blatant way. Even though in a vacuum I agree with a lot of left leaning ideas, hearing it vomited back to me just feels like I stuck my head right into an echo chamber. If you're trying to engage with political storytelling, first of all scooby doo is NOT the right IP for that (it'd be way better to just make an original series), but also political stories should still be GOOD stories first, and have a political context upon critical thinking. Fahrenheit 451 is clearly politically motivated, but it's also just a great story. Velma just failed at being literally everything. It's not a good show, it doesn't follow the point of the scooby doo IP, it isn't politically critical, it just...it sucks
