I loved the period setting we are accustomed to seeing in black and white rendered with such vivid colours - and the costumes were a delight. But although all the characters in this film looked well costumed, none of them had any charm and failed to raise any emotion in me. Character motives and behaviour didnt seem anywhere near human and if this was for comic effect, failed to reach the mark. The film finished in a puff of HUH??
