I love historical stories and this one was gripping! The story of how each person interpreted the lead up to the rape and what happened afterwards was well done. It makes me feel so sorry for the women back then and how they were treated, as just chattels, with no rights. The fight scenes were very gorey, but, no doubt, all warfare is gorey!
