As a victim of multiple abusers from age 4 to 20 on varying occasions, this book covered every aspect of the disfunction that I had to fight tooth and nail just to keep myself alive inside. Very succinct and a blessing to my heart, head, and soul. I am a 71-year-old woman who has fought influences of these abuses all my life. I tried therapy, counseling, reading multiple books, and the desire to "just get over it"! All that came of it was an endless struggle to believe I a was worthy of the trouble. I learned more from Teresa Gil, and the group of peers that she cited, than I learned from all the other endeavors put together. Thank you, Teresa Gil, and associates! I believe that, not only can I accept myself as a useful Mother, wife, and friend, but have a chance at feeling I have the possibility to go further, even if others cannot forgive or value me because of my mistakes.
