I found this film spellbinding ,in its,setting and time. ( It being set in the fifties) The actors appeared larger than life: mainly because we, the audience were waiting with excitement and anticipation 'Ray Milland was an excellent villain,and was incredulous to the end- when he finally got his com -uppance. Thanks to the wonderful actors, and above all, - to the wonderful original story and overall direction and casting by the brilliant 'Alfred Hitcock'

I think it is a good drama to watch. An exciting cop drama, but with extra obscenities that usually fit into the storyline well. An important factor in its enjoyment is the underlying humour which takes part between the main characters... The chief woman detective is tough and unyielding.. because she has to be.
