After seeing all the disappointed reviews, I didn't want to try this game. I love the Torchlight series and didn't want this third instalment to ruin that for me. I waited until the sale was on and thought I'd take a bite. I regret not buying this game when it first came out because it deserves what it costs. What you need to know is that I have clocked many many hours on Hack and Slash / ARPG style games so neither is this my first nor do I review this with any particular bias. TL:DR ===== Torchlight 3 is an excellent game. It is fun, addictive and satisfying and it does all of that in perfect Torchlight style. Everything from the fighting, the bosses frequency, the inventory management, the loot vs level, the forge (you set out your own forge - brilliant!) the game style, well done. I'm hooked. I highly recommend it! Some More Detail ============== Looking at the sheer number of negative reviews on this game does not make sense to me at all. This game isn't meant to be a competitor to Diablo, I don't think it even cares to do that. It is a completely different style of game and I think that's what makes it shine the most. Torchlight stands out among other ARPG games in being beginner-friendly, family-friendly and beautifully made. It moves away from the dark style art and horror-feel and has never been like that. The art team must have had so much fun designing this game because I think they have nailed the trademark Torchlight style. It has a sort of Dota 2 style smooth, easy-on-the-eyes design and I am absolutely in love with it. I couldn't put the controller down and clocked over an hour of play from the first try. That may not be much for some people but I don't have that sort of time anymore. This game is addictive and fun. Is it perfect? No. I wish the game ran a little faster. I wish there were different, more innovative, classes. There also seems to be some minor glitches that don't affect the playing AT ALL I did notice them. Other than that, I can't fault the game as of yet. I love it and I know that you will too. Get this game. It will be worth it. What other Games have I played in the genre?
