Definitely a step in the right direction. If you liked the first two games in the series, you’ll enjoy this one. You still have your action commands, items, and special attacks, but with a twist in the mechanics. Battle system is unique and fun. Story line is solid and original with a well designed world and a decent soundtrack. Plenty of puzzle solving throughout the game. The negatives; Partners rarely help in battles and there’s no XP. If finding toads isn’t your thing, it might be a dealbreaker. Either way, if you’re a Paper Mario fan, this is a must have.
