Imagine Venom if it was about 30min longer and slightly more "darker" but without the buddy comedy aspect. Just like how Venom felt weird without any connection to spiderman, it's the same without Shazam. Tho there's a bit more connection with this than venom. Atleast Black Adam has the Shazam emblem on his chest and there are mentions of Shazam. Meanwhile Venom doesn't even have his/Spiderman's emblem on his chest. The plot felt simple and predictable without any twists just like Venom.
A lot of Mexico yellow, tho it's middle eastern yellow this time.
I am never one to complain about CGI but the last battle felt more PS2 than the battles before the final battle. The battles before had more interesting action and better visuals.
The side characters were interesting but we don't know much about them and we'll probably never get anything more from them knowing it's DC. All the castings seemed great from time we had and probably will ever have with them.
With Marvel you know the post credit scenes have a plan but with this it felt more like Morbius' post credit scene and you know it was only done cause The Rock wanted to.
Also the fact that Shazam 2 doesn't seem to have any connection to this and them sort of implying so at the end of this movie seems wasteful.
Maybe it disappointed me more than most because I've been a fan of DC since childhood while the MCU was basically my major exposure to Marvel.
