This film may be gripping for people who have not watched Benedict Cumberbatch and Robert Downey Jr. But Vishal's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes leaves much to be desired. It comes off as stilted, stony and blank rather than witty, arrogant and intriguing. A lack of originality is sorely felt. Though I can understand why Mysskin made a movie inspired by the Sherlock Holmes series, he could have tailored it to match his own trademark and the audience' taste. Too much similarity to the original is where the film failed. Points for effort though :)
