A counterproductive game, extremely damaging to both the LGBT community and the rest of the fanbase. It prioritizes lecturing and divisive rhetoric over telling a good story. Feels like PG-13 fanfic written by amateurs with no real life friends and 0 understanding how basic human conversations work.

Overall, the show is a must-watch, no need to play the game. What prevents it from having 5 stars is the fact that it has too few episodes and too little potential for sequels. Episode 1~7 had perfect pacing in my opinion. Ep 2 & 6 gave some real good emotional moments. Character designs are top-notch. You don't see this level of uniquesness every year. I'd say not since year 2015. But they are unfortunately wasted by the fact that this show is too short and i feel i hadn't have enough of these people before they~~each meet their fate. Ep 8 & 9 were way too condensed. Some more fleshing out the relationships and personalities of characters would be great. Definitely would be better if this was at least 12 episodes. Heck, this show has so much content it could easily be 24 / 2 seasons if needed. Ep 10 was in my opinion too bleak and needlessly killed off 1 important character (the male protagonist's death was expected if you've played the game...the other one that died...just doesn't deserve that, even if she wasn't my favorite). My guess is the creators didn't expect this show to be so successful, had no plan for future...so decided to just tell 1 good story with a poetically tragic ending but very little potential for a sequel. In my opinion this is not wise if an anime series was to thrive. And this one definitely had potential for that if the casualty rate was a bit lower. But I suppose TRIGGER was instructed to just make anime to sell CP2077 the game (which imo will never match up to this beautiful anime at this point) and did just that. Heck, i know Cyberpunk 2020 lore like the back of my hand and I don't even want to play the game. But I do want Trigger to make more animes like this one so i can watch them all.

The movie gets the message through, although the delivery is occasionally hampered by the awkward English dialogues (which I suspect was originally written in Korean then translated) which undermine certain critical plot points. Interestingly, there are some easter eggs in the credits section post the ending that tells me that there were many ideas that were cut and did not make it to production. All in all, this is a quality satirical art piece that an audience familiar with European fairy tales would get more out of than an audience that is not. My original score for this would be 4 because of the janky English dialogue, but I am bumping it to 5 because of the familiarity with source materials the South Korean team has demonstrated (very impressive)

False advertising. Heaps of disappointment. Story is generally predictable and RPG elements are pretty much lacking. This is a glorified empty sandbox with an "open-world" that has no substance. 1. Story (main quest) is told in a deceptively good way for a scripted, interactive movie. 2. We're playing a game, but NOT role-playing it 3. Your lifepath does not matter. Most of the dialogue choices you make also do not matter. 4. Romances deliver only the bare minimum, severely lacking depth and width. For binary people, you have exactly 1 option. Just 1. Take it or leave it. 5. Side contents are aplenty and feels huge in quantity!! ...except, most of them are clones of each other. 6. Censorship exists even in non-censored versions. The game feels like Teen (T)

The EULA which denies all custom map creators of their rights is an insult to Blizzard’s own values and fans alike.

A highly moddable open-world RPG that has an original and rich universe, and is infinitely replayable!
