Honestly, the book was so much better than the movie, as is the case with most book-movie adaptations. Sam Claflin nailed Will's character; you could feel Will's misery, hopelessness and utter desolation. Emilia Clarke, on the other hand, ruined Louisa's character for me. In the book, Lou was a kind, charismatic, passionate person with a real personality, someone you could sympathize with. But Emilia's version of Lou was exaggerated to the point where it felt like a parody, like someone trying really hard to not be like "all the other girls". The editing wasn't great either, all the scenes felt disjointed from each other and there just wasn't much continuity. I was disappointed to say the least.
