I really wanted to like Shake it up since i love Zendaya and this show is loved by many so recently i decided to watch it for the first time (although i did watch one episode when it originally aired) and i was so bored. The jokes aren't funny, like not one chuckle, it's just dead silence in the room. It relies on potty humour and it's disgusting. The only time i laughed was the FINAL episode. The premise of the show which is dancing is weak and doesn't even play a big part of the show. Not to mention the main characters can't dance. The only good dancer on the show is Rocky's brother ty and the background dancers. The clothing choice on this show is very questionable.The actors overact and pull weird faces and it just makes me cringe although at times specifically with Bella there has been some good acting, most of the episodes are boring to watch and the laugh track is overused. This show also really loves to embarrass the characters/actors. The main characters Rocky and Cece are unlikable no hate to Zendaya and Bella. Cece is always getting her and rocky into trouble and manipulating her as well as being whiny and self centred and thinking everything's about her, she is also really disrespectful to her mother and gets away with it and Rocky is annoying and thinks she can do anything as well as always being uptight and boring. Cece and Rocky often get into big arguments and sometimes you wonder why they are still friends.Gunther and Tinka are annoying as intended but sometimes it just gets too much, they have no business being on this show and add nothing to the plot.Flynn is annoying and lazy. The only likable characters are ty and deuce. Most of the time i feel bad for deuce because he gets picked on for no apparent reason by his own girlfriend, family and friends and is basically the punching bag and according to this show it's a joke. Speaking of Deuce's girlfriend Dina, she is really annoying ,at first i liked her but she is really controlling and annoying and she's never in the wrong, it's always deuce' fault not to mention she speaks in this weird loud fake accent which is painful to listen to and you can see it in the other character's reactions. The running gags are really stale and not funny and the three of the main characters speak in annoying accents e.g gunther, tinka and dina. The only good thing about this show is the theme song. Overall this show was not a good show and i think people only like it becauase of Zendaya. Watching the whole show felt like a chore and it dragged, i literally couldn't wait till it was over. I wouldn't reccomend unless you want to bebored out of your mind. Granted it is better than best friends whenever, dog with a blog and the current disney but other than that this show was not it. If you want to watch any of Zendaya's disney projects, i'd reccomend Kc undercover which is a much better show than this.
