Monster is a social commentary and history lesson of America. It's message is as poignant today as it was in 1969. And I also believe it is Steppenwolf's most underrated album. The whole thing is amazing rock infused RnB with moments of psychedelia. Listen to the song Monster and you'd think it was written about today's events. Leave it to a Canadian to get American history in the context it ought to be delivered in.
