Harris comes back as a shallow US army commander of a base in Germany, while soldiers under his command, including Phoenix, are at loose. Respectively, a combination of laughter, exclamation marks, and an under-hint to military absurdity, this movie tries, sometimes desperately, to keep the viewer tuned, and it does that and a little more. Yet, you should be prepared for a few undeveloped ideas. And there are scenes that cannot be well understood and connected unless by somebody familiar to military environments. I recommend it.

The best depiction of a story I've ever watched. Watch it ONLY with the Japanese track since the English dub ruins the show by eliminating the ending score. I can't stress this enough, DO NOT watch the English dub.

This is something I'll never forget. I've watched many anime productions, some popular and held in high regard, but I've forgot about almost all of them. This one, however, is different. I distinctly remember scenes, character, and their facial expressions. The good thing about this is that it doesn't preach. It doesn't try to talk you out or in of anything. It simply depicts an apocalyptic world with complex characters and an amazingly capturing atmosphere. If media were to be categorized into "commercial" and "interpretive", Ergo Proxy would be the latter. All in all, if you're type that enjoys reading Orwell or Aldous Huxley's works, and if you're intrigued by dystopian nightmares, then this is definitely for you.

Overall a good adaptation of Plato's cave allegory. Just that I wish it were longer. Definitely worth a watch or two.

It has a good idea behind it and is interesting enough to keep watching, but it has a very dissatisfying ending.

It was quite literally a boring watch. It felt like I was watching a long Disney epic, and I had to skip it multiple times near its end. It becomes obvious how it will end after the 1st hour. The visuals are sometimes good but that's just about it.
