I've only just watched the first episode, and I can already tell that I _do not like the judges._
I get that they're both prominent make-up artists in the beauty world, but when you're judging a competition for technique creativity and skill, you should be unbiased in your critiques. Voicing your opinions is good, but you're there to mentor also. For an effective competition with artists that are technically still learning, even if they don't win they should come away feeling that they've LEARNED something.
These judges throw in way too much of their own preferences and what THEY like and what THEY would do. They don't give enough constructive feedback, they DON'T approach any of the looks with open minds, and they make a lot of snarky comments that really don't need to be there. It's like they approach every look they judge with 'make-up rules' in their minds, when a lot of the challenges call for outside-the-box thinking and real creativity!! You can't call something "Boring" and "Blah" and say it "didn't hit the mark" just because it wasn't your cup of tea. You're supposed to be looking at the execution and the techniques within!! Seriously, a piece could be dripping with weird ideas and loads of color, but if they don't particularly like the design, they'll shut it down. It was so aggravating!
I really hope the looks are at least nice to look at because damn are these judges annoying as all hell...
