Although the writers in denial that the story about abusive sexual misconduct. What the audience perceive is just failed Emmanuel Macron storyline premise but with sad devastating endings. If the writers want to give visibility about abusive sexual misconduct of teacher - student, its better that the writers just tell the a factual TRUE STORY rather than make a fictional story and characters. I wish I can despise Claire but Im pity her instead. The writers maybe want to give excuse that Claire is the wrong ones or perpetrators here. Since she is an adults 30's teacher that should not fantasize and send mixed signal to Eric, and she had to reject Eric move because Eric is still minor. But what the audience see that she is a self sabotage destructive woman. She doesn't seduce Eric whatsoever, Eric was the ones who smitten and do the move. Eric isnt the gullible naive teenage whom manipulated by Claire. He is the ones who chase the trophy. Furthermore the premise is so weak, there is room that their relationship can be a legal ones if Eric wait after graduation and Claire divorced her husband. Why the writers force a story to be the story of "sexual misconduct" when its more potential to be just an affair by the time Eric graduation. I dont blame the actress/actors, they deliver fit acting, the one we shall criticize is just bad storyline. For sort the series is confusing, bad storyline, weak execution.
