I am a huge fan of Inuyasha, I keep going back to rewatch episodes just to feel that nostalgia... when I heard there’s a sequel I wasn’t happy at all because I had a feeling it was going to be mediocre or for lack of a better term trash. Now I am not saying Yashahime is completely boring but the only notion keeping me interested is the mention and references of the original cast. I am just dying to see Inuyasha & co. Quite disappointing when they want us to focus on these supposedly resilient half demon princesses (I can guarantee fans are only watching to see the old cast). I don’t like Towa being the main character, she’s not interesting at all, I would have loved it if she was just made to be a guy honestly. Setsuna isn’t so bad but I like Kagome’s daughter a lot. She is witty, smart, funny, I just don’t like that she looks like she belongs in the wolf tribe, and I always hated Koga. What I do like is that the focus isn’t solely on Mahora? but the twins as well. This means that Sesshomaru might have more appearances in the future if we will ever get to see them that is. Moreover, the plot isn’t that gripping, the revamping of old villian sucks. Couldn’t they just say what’s the problem from the get go than trying to build suspense? In Inuyasha the problem was posed as early as episode 1 they had a mission they knew who they were up against and then things got interesting from there. In Yashahime they are just stringing us along because we are crazed fans of Inuyasha, letting us know why these kids have no idea whom they are and why kaede isn’t telling them their identities or why they were abondoned would have been better, then the kids would have to work on setting their parent free from wherever they are, it will feel like finding the shards again.
