R.S. Lewis – Google

Another great show Netflix refused to invest in and cancel because it "cost too much" From the acting, set design and costumes. But what made it magical was the music as well as ts historically correct setting. This show is another example of care being put into entertainment. It showed the humble beginnings of the New York hip hop era of dance & music and how it captivated an entire generation as music in urban areas shifted from the then popular disco. It even tackled some social themes of race and much more. I was bummed to hear that it was canceled and sad to see it go.

While flawed in some areas, this is highly underrated film that I wish had received more attention. The plot is actually really good and in fact shares a lot of similarities to the reboot of The Invisible Man. The acting can often feel short and some scenes can be triggering for abuse victims. That being said this film has one of the most brutal death scenes I've seen in a while. I'm not sure where this movie is archived but again... It's worth a watch

Honestly I wanted to not like this show from the beginning but my curiosity got the best of me. So I figured that if both the pilot and 2 episode didn't wow me or keep my attention, then I would go back to my Charmed reruns. Besides I hate reboots and remakes. That being said...the little f***er has grown on me. This show is good as it's packed with plot detail, good acting and effects...as well as topics that are both relevant and touchy in today's media. Kudos CW, you have me hooked on some new eye-candy.
