The best sci-fi series to be released in my lifetime. If this one was slow for you, the next two books will pick up speed exponentially.

It was a rough read. As someone who loves deep sci-fi, this was pretty dull. Most characters felt 1 dimensional which would have been okay if they didn't have the group dynamics be so 1 dimensional as well. The plot (the first 2/3rds) is good. The plot was an interesting setup but I don't think anyone wanted a 3rd part that just jumped 500 years into the future. I was excited to start reading this one but it disappointed me. I'm an Aerospace engineer and thout it was dull. Don't let this one turn you away from deep sci-fi. I suggest checking out three body problem. These are opposite sides of a coin when it comes to this genere.
