Love it. You have listen carefully or you will miss Hugh Grant's throwaway lines that are a riot. Yes I'm a romantic and know there had to be a happy ending and "don't write me off just yet" was the perfect vehicle to end it.
I have the DVD and every once in a while when I need a lift I insert it into the player sit back and watch it all over again.

On leaving the theater I was silent which is unusual for me. My wife asked what's bothering you? I said there is something wrong with this film. I had read the book. Suddenly it hit me. It should have been in black and white because of the depressing nature of the plot. It's been years since seeing the movie when it first came out around 1970. But there it was in beautiful technicolor. It's been over fifty years since seeing it and my memory may be faulty but I don't remember one humorous moment.

Ps I did find the book interesting and also read Malamud's book The Natural . The book had a very different ending than the movie with Robert Redford. I preferred the happy ending of the movie. There is enough sad stories going around.

When I saw it, because of the story line, I could actual hear the audience around me gasping for breath trying not to make a sound. The best since Alien.

Not my cup of tea two masochist beating up an old man. I felt like a voyeur. I think Mr Williams has watched Clockwork Orange one too many times. Nothing in their conversation shows any sign of intelligence.

Great action movie with insights of how our government can use it's technology against their own innocent people. Hackman is one of the best. This reminds mew a little of Three Days Of The Condor.
