Satire, steeped in cynicism and cruelty, with exactly one character (Quinn) spared the treatment “I’m not a person, I’m the avatar of a type.” But... also made with great visual beauty, mostly flawless acting, a strangely seductive horror-comic atmosphere and pitch-perfect dialogue. And, a brilliant plot construction which evolves from the opening scene like a monster growing in menace and intensity through every subsequent episode. I recommend this series, but with a warning: it will seduce you and annoy you in equal measure. You will not care a bit about any of the characters given how repulsive and shallow the writers have made them, but you will also need to know how their stories end. The whole thing is provocative and deeply unsettling.
