For the 50th anniversary of the Liberation war, this film was not it.
I get this is the first Pakistani directed movie post-covid and people are excited for Pakistani cinema (hence the overhyped reviews I see here) but I feel a lot of people are glancing over the real history that this movie does NOT provide us with. The visuals were nice at points but for me the blatant injustice in this 'history lesson' about Bangladesh and the war is abysmal.
As someone else also mentioned, for a movie about Dhaka, Bangladesh, for it to not be filmed in Bangladesh is lazy and the stereotypes of Bengali people was offensive.
