Charles Hall – Google

Probably only about 70 percent through so far, but this is one of my favorite "games" of all time. As a man who loved the choose your own adventure books back in the day, along with fantasy rpg games and novels, this manages to be both nostalgic and fresh, a perfect blend of book and rpg. Already planning a different path my next playthrough. Warning though, if you don't like reading books I highly doubt you'll like this game, as it is more or less an interactive novel. That said, I recommend this to anyone who games more for the story than the gameplay, anyone who loves fantasy novels and/or rpg, and anyone who loves choice based narrative branches. You won't be disappointed and it is well worth the 25$ price point on xbox store

Disclaimer: I've only played through the first four or five chapters, so my rating of 2 stars is not based on a full playthrough. That said, this is the only Quantic Dream game I started and did not complete. The controls just feel off, and all around felt sloppy... story didn't do it for me, had no interest in it even after about 2 hours of gameplay and at that point I just turned it off and doubt I'll ever come back to it.

Overall a really good game/interactive narrative. Definitely keeps you engaged throughout, and for the most part makes you care about each of the 3 characters you control, and knowing that a wrong decision could get them killed and end their story arc on your playthrough adds weight to your choices. Along those same lines, the sheer volume of choices you make that can affect the story and ultimately the ending (as reflected by the game's flowchart) give it replay value. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is due to what felt to me like a rushed conclusion in the latter chapters of the game, and in one of the characters stories what comes across as a complete, abrupt, nonsensical change in what said character destination was that seems to exist only as a sloppy way of tying their story in with the others toward the end. Even with these complaints though still would recommend this if you are a fan of narrative games and/or if you played and enjoyed Quantic Dreams other games (Heavy Rain, Beyond:Two Souls, Indigo Prophecy)
