Huh.
I don't get it! I really wanted to love it!
It reminded me a lot of Rushmore (including the inappropriate squeamish age-difference love story), but the central animating figure -- which made me so engaged in Rushmore -- was missing (sorry, Cooper!) I blame the script more than the acting -- it's hard to make aimless people feel like they're invigorating. Especially when you want them to feel "real." Somehow, W.A. did it. P.T.A does not.
It just kind of slogs. Endlessly.
Alana was fine! I'd be interested to see her in something else.
This just didn't work for me.
