This was not Poirot. Poirot would not actively run anywhere, chasing things down. No, he'd wait for them to come to him. Wait for things to fall into place, employ his little grey cells. Ariadne Oliver would never betray her friend and certainly not for a book. Her imagination is fertile, and she has trouble keeping the ideas out sometimes. And she's a rambler, nowhere was that evident. I get changing things for the big screen but not an entire character's personality.
