Like many in the reviews said, the plot setting was quite unnerving involving the underaged boy. If we look beyond the surface, I think this particular setting is to symbolize the social norms against anyone's desire in life, not exactly on sexual life. The protagonist faces all sorts of judgments from friends, family and society as a whole on her choice of marriage, job, etc. I think the directors use a very controversial love story to set the tone, as a vehicle to show how heavy the pressure could be on anyone. A lot of time, one may not even realize that one is yielding to the social norm because we've accepted it as, well, normal. If we view this series from this angel, the plot becomes easy to understand. And the story unfolds very beautifully and the acting is superb.

Too tightly knitted story lines, giving no room for any imagination or emotion reactions from viewers. It didn't build a complication that could be intriguing either. Just tightness, but no depth or layers. I like Steven Yeun a lot and he is an excellent actor. The character of Wong on the other hand, was pointless and meaningless. No performance either. It is categorized as comedy, but not at all.

3 star because I found it is good acting and fascinating true-event based. but towards to end, and especially the last episode, the tone seems to set for us to root for Anna because she is an immigrant? because she is a young woman with her life stolen from her (Vivian Kent's words after sentence)? And Rachel is to be despised because she betrayed her friend? I am actually disgusted by these suggestions. It is a insult to real hard working immigrant and young women. Let's face it, everyone was conned by Anna because they have not just believed, but in fact hoped that she is indeed rich. but that's not excuse for Anna's crime. I couldn't understand Neff's logic at all that Anna is a good person. She learned all what Anna has done but refuses to open her eyes. Yes Rachel has benefited from Anna but that doesn't make Anna lesser a criminal. Would Neff happily assume that $62,000 charge? The instagram culture promotes fake images and people celebrate fame even if it is criminal.

It was quite interesting the first few episodes with the threads building up. However I started to fast forwarding and eventually gave up at the beginning of episode 11. After Danny learned that Colleen is with the Hand, he determined that he has to destroy the Hand. Com’on, he could’ve died in that psychiatric clinic if not for the help of Colleen. And why didn’t he kill Madam Gao? And why he trusted Meachum blindly? Weird. I feel that this story is so American, i.e. showing the struggle of individualism against any institution, be it Rand Corporation, the Hand, or the order of the Crane Mother. It’s kind of cliché
