This book was unexpected. Yvette writes in a way that compels you to keep reading and invests you in the characters as if they are people you know - she makes them people you relate to and care for. Her beautifully raw and accurate depiction of grief will resonate with anyone that has ever lost a loved one. I thought I was getting a legal/crime novel. I got a love story that gripped my soul.
