The book, the movie, both were absolutely captivating. The remarkable story of an astronaut left for dead on Mars and living. This story gripped me until the end, I couldn't let go. I literally cried throughout the entire thing, even when he complained about disco. It's proof that it is all about attitude. He was completely alone when he woke up with that shrapnel in his side, deserted on a lifeless planet. His speech to students at the end is his single reason for living. He got up, dusted himself off and got to work solving his own problems. Fortunately, he was educated, skilled and wanted to go home. Eventually, all the smartest people back home on earth surpassed political tar pits and united in helping him. So, now we know, one person can change the world. This new entry will be added to my list of all time favorites to revisit over and over again.
