The Wonder Years reboot did the all important job of staying true to the spirit, nature, and mood of the original show. So much so did this show emulate the humor, pathos, the local level experience, the bigger history in which it finds its context, the tragedy, and the triumph. Dean Williams, I hope, will be the Kevin Arnold of a whole new generation of The Wonder Years. I felt like a kid again, watching the pilot episode.

I just completed the first season of A Million Little Things. It raises lots of questions. And when it's at a loss for answers, I've come to appreciate that's the point. No one really knows what drove Jon Dixon to his demise except Jon Dixon. My one complaint was that the series' strongest performer was only a guest star. Ron Livingston was the glue that held the series together. He brought out the best in everyone else. Arguments, recriminations, and pettiness seemed to crop up in non-Ron Livingston episodes. However, the redeeming qualities are many. Lizzy Greene as daughter Sophie. Romany Malco as Rome. The Gary and Maggie story line gave me two cancer survivors that had a sardonic, gallows sense of humor and as such, really complemented each other. Not a hole in one, but it is on par. Looking forward to season 2.
