The only downside to this movie is it being a sequel to a underperforming, unpopular first movie/being a spin off which is often overlooked for being seen as useless money-grabbing content.
But Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is anything but that. It is a daring take to animation with style, originality, interesting character dynamics, beautiful innovative animation, breathtaking action scenes and outstanding voice acting. If you watch it like you're watching a brand new movie you've never heard of (and it works - you don't need to watch any Shrek or any other Puss n Boots content to enjoy this), this will be such a surprising treat. If anything, the ending may fall a bit flat but that is nothing compared to the amount of joy and entertainment me and other 7 people I dragged to the theater against their will felt. The best theater experience I've had since Into the Spiderverse.
