Dull and drawn out but FINE, until the ending which doesn’t make a lot of sense. Especially in the greater timeline of JW. Lackluster and hugely disappointing, it hangs its hat on the hope of either getting another season or maybe hopes you don’t remember details about the movie. You know, like Winston running the continental for decades, even though sure the high table would have insane consequences for what he did at the end of this. Or Winston only having a British accent when he’s older? Really doesn’t help that some writer or director whatever is running around Twitter fighting with people who have common sense critiques like: “No you can’t speak 100% clearly and enunciate if you don’t have lips.” High hopes, underdelivered. Unneeded, thoughtless origin that actually explains nothing. Don’t get me started on wasting the adjudicator after making her such an intriguing, intense character.
