It really is a DECENT mario kart game. Free roam is a nice addition as well as 24 character races. Most of the characters are just reskins of the same 8 mario characters. Some tracks really throw you off with how inconsistent laps are, 0 collection progress meters or markers is a wild move. Everything feels so lifeless for a rather full of life nintendo game.

This game is seriously the most fun I've had with a 2d mario since super mario world for the super nintendo. They really put the extra attention to detail. The voice acting is different, it was off putting at first as someone who has played for so long. After a while I really didn't notice anymore. I'm having a blast with this game.

The game is bland all through out. To the limited planets, npc dialog, space combat, normal combat, etc etc. People have come to expect each more from Bethesda, this is not their finest work. The 30 fps on consoles is a terrible choice as well and ends up making the game looking uglier than it already is. 4 out of 10 game.
