I once had lots of depression coming from an abusive childhood. A significant person manipulated me to the point that I tried 400% of my ability but still unsatisfactory under his opinion, and he simultaneously amplified my mistakes to make my image look bad in front of other people, especially family members.
This book taught me some very important things:
- Expect the best, try the best (which I have always been doing) but lower expectations on other people (which was a big change, something I never thought of until then)
- Don't try to control the future or past (focus on "here"- yourself and "now")
- Be positive and persistent, humble-hidden and patient
- The value of something (whether it is height, success, money, muscles...) is truly based on how you perceive it and not other people
- Everyone, everybody is equal so be proud of yourself and be fearless :)
