The golden house is not very good. The characters are not likable. Plus you don’t care about what happens to them. The author gratuitously throws out names of authors, artists, philosophers, poets, politicians, rock stars and other media people as well as Greek myths, movies, directors, books, on and on and on ad infinitum. You don’t even give a hoot about what happens, you just want the book to end. I do not recommend it.
